• I absolutely loved this book. Sammi Leigh Melville effortlessly builds the world of the four villages and their inhabitants. Piece-by-piece, she reveals a beautifully complex and compelling story. I couldn't put this book down, I just had to find out what the field had in store for the characters I had grown to know and love. It drew me in immediately and had me guessing until the very end!

• This is an engaging and thought provoking story of love, scorn, regret, and healing. The development of identifiable characters (not always flattering) through dialogue, and the complexity of family and community relationships is intriguing from beginning to end. The tempo of the storylines make for a quick read, and left me wanting more of the real character relationships in the “unreal” world of the villages. Thoroughly enjoyable.
• Sammi’s debut novel is just wonderful! I always judge my reaction to a book by how much I'll miss the characters when I've finished the last page. I know i will miss these characters, and I'd like to know what happens next in their lives. Looking forward to her next book! Maybe a sequel?
