"Barbara Hannah Grufferman’s Love Your Age is a marvelous way to educate ones self on health after the age of 40. It captures key elements of aging concerns and addresses them in a factually credible, fun and engaging way. I am a registered nurse who focused on women’s health. Now when I am asked questions about normal aging and aspects that aren’t, after responding I will refer women to Love Your Age.
One of my favorite parts of the book is that it includes suggestions on how to stay healthy within the changes women can experience as we age. In nursing, we call that health promotion. In more lay terms it is focusing on wellness. Following much of the advice in the book offers a much better chance of not experiencing some of what some may think are inevitable parts of aging. For example the chapter on Sleep is a must read. Barbara notes the importance of sleep and rightfully calls it one of the pillars of health.
Love the quotes that begin each chapter. Some are humorous and made me laugh out loud, others are spot on and inspirational. I strongly recommend this book and suggest you buy at least 2 – one for you and one for your best friend. This is not a loaner type of book, but one to keep for yourself and reference over and over again."

Love Your Age The SmallStep Solution to a Better Longer Happier Life Barbara Hannah Grufferman 9781426218323 Books Reviews
- I have been waiting for this!!! Love Your Age will be my go to bible for better day-to-day lifestyle solutions. I bought Grufferman's first book, The Best of Everything after 50, and found it to be a no-nonsense resource; but this book is even better. Once again the author has created an easy to use roadmap for simple daily, weekly and yearly "must do's" to stay healthy and happy. I applaud Grufferman for not only sifting through all the piles of information available to us as consumers but also for providing the critical essentials we need know - all backed up by industry experts. Thank you!!
- This book is an excellent resource and plainly written. It has a pleasant, welcoming look within it's pages, with a good mix of text and appropriate photos. I would have given this a 5 star rating, but my one big complaint that affects the whole, is that the print is too small. It doesn't have to be 'large print', but needs to be a more readable size. I would leave out some information that is not as necessary, to make room for larger print, or add more pages and charge more. I would pay more to have it a more readable size.
- This beautiful book by Barbara Hannah Grufferman offers page after page of exquisite visuals and vibrant tips on how to "LOVE YOUR AGE."
It's the kind of book you can refer to again and again. User-friendly, it easily answers our age-related questions. With page headings such as, "Follow Your Gut To Better Health," and "10 Small Steps to a Lifelong Fitness Habit," and "The Ups and Downs of our Emotional Habits," Grufferman pays attention to all of us--not just some of us with a singular problem or health concern. Attention to detail stands out, beginning with quotes from notables such as Hippocrates and even Jefferey Eugenides and Victor Hugo! Buy this book and leave it where you can see it. You'll be referring to it often. I know I am! - Barbara Hannah Grufferman’s Love Your Age is a marvelous way to educate ones self on health after the age of 40. This is not a loaner type of book, but one to keep for yourself and reference over and over again. - This is a great book to share with your bestie, your mother, your daughter and yourself — it’s equal part expertise and girlfriend convo. l learned important —and fun— facts I never knew. I really feel that the author took me on a journey that is destined to change my life — her steps for loving our age seem easy enough for even me to follow. It’s a book that keeps on giving even after you’ve read it once because it’s chock full of info you’ll want to go back to.
- Barbara once again shines in her latest book. Each chapter provides not only new insights on how we age, but also reminds us of things we were taught early in our lives that we have forgotten about. She also addresses some topics (10 Small Steps to Sexy Fun, for example), that reading it made me feel like she was sitting right next to me discussing these topics. It was more of a friend vs. a doctor's office. 10 Small Steps to Make Those Healthy Habits Stick section gave me motivation to try one small new step every day. Happy to say, after reading her book a month later I am up to a 2 minute plank! It took one small step. An easy read and a book I go back to frequently.
- Fantastic guide to feel and look good, by starting the habits you always wanted to. So much interesting and useful information from trusted experts, condensed into a way that’s very easy-to-follow and understand. In a world where one magazine article negates the information in another, finding one place where the sources are credible was very helpful. It had so many things I didn’t know. Read it and change your life for the better!
- This book is full of practical, interesting information—a knowledgeable friend to help map the over 50 quest for enhancing quality of life. Barbara is a genuinely successful, fun and kind example of the quest for successfully enjoying life over 50.
